OVERVIEW: The policy recognises co-operatives as private business organizations. In order to become responsible corporate entities, co-operatives are expected to promote good governance practices that ensure their sustainable growth and development.

In this respect, the policy proposes a new structure that promotes integration and enhances self-regulation.
